Was the downtime for the better? Was doing something to make the servers better? Or was it just another bad thing happening?

Apparently there was a problem with the datacenter.

Earlier this evening my datacenter experienced an aggressive DDoS attack and as a result all of my datacenter netblocks were shutdown, and were being brought up one at a time to identify the target of the attack.
