Domain expiration

If I let my hosting and domain expire, I guess that the domain that I signed up with will not be available to buy from somewhere like Godaddy for a while. How long will this be, if at all?

Yes but the domain I signed up with only remains active if I keep on paying for my hosting.

After the expiration date, the domain goes experation period (which can last from 1 - 45 days). After that there is a 30 day redemption period. Next on to deletion which last about 5 days.

After that, the domain becomes avaible to everyone. That is the typical life of a domain after expiration.
