I'm working on the problem, it's a problem with the hard drive. As data backup for that server wasn't completed yet, so couldn't get a new hard drive in yet.

When it comes to hardware issues, I have to rely on my datacenter for physical access (which is a slow process), sorry for the downtime.

Since this server has turned to crap, and I've been promising a hardware upgrade. I just purchased the a new server to move everyone off server two to a brand new server. Which will happen over this week.

Sweet, new server.

Might as well, since I've been promsing it. I wanted to wait till I was finished moving all the accounts from one billing center to another (lol which is taking a long time, since I have do it manually).

Though since I have to fix this server, it would be easier just to get the new upgraded server instead and transfer over. However I still have to get this server up (talking with datacenter right now). To a stable condition at least for a few days, so I can start transfer.

:)

Cool, at least we get a new server from all these downtimes.

Are we going to lose all of our data?

I just wish I had the ability to mention what is going on.

I certainly hope you are. I hope you backed-up not only your data (which you should have a copy locally as all good programmers should) but also your databases.

I know that you use phpAdsNews and you get alot of revenue from that. Be careful of dumb people trying to rip you off.

Sigh. At least we get a new server. Thanks BihiraJonathan.

As I mention, always backup your data. Like I said, the server hd was failing (on Friday went server two went down for the first time). I was in the process throughout the weekend to back it up. However, I'm working with my datacenter to get a third temporary hard drive installed on the server with a brand new OS reload and cPanel reload.

To see what I can salvage off the failing hd (hopefully everything). Most accounts were on the second hard drive (while the OS is on the first hard drive). The main hard drive was the one failing, so any accounts on the second hard drive is most likely safe.

Hopefully, we can get our data back. If not, its just my news posts and one days worth of posts on my forum.

Update: Recently just got access to the server again, and now working on restoring it for just a few days, so I can get transferred over to the new server. DATA looks intact from initial impressions.

So how long will our sites be down for, approximately?

Two other things:

Am I the only person who gets this message when trying to access Support, Members and other links from the Bihira homepage:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'bihira_site'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/bihira/public_html/config.php on line 2 ?

When I try to preview my website stored on my local drive, it just asks if I want to downlaod the PHP document, rather than displaying it... what do I do?

Will you just be transferring the data over and be done with it or will the server come back up so we can generate backups?

If the sites are going to be down for an extended period of time, can you temporarily move the sites to another server?

Have you considered moving the servers to a place where you can get physical access?

FTP appears to be working.

Support isn't dealt at the support button the main site. It is always dealt with at http://www.bihira.com/clientexec/ and http://www.bihira.com/modernbill/.

Windows doesn't come with a PHP server, you need to install PHP on windows in order to have it be displayed as a webpage.

Setting up the new server and getting everyone transferred over will take a few days to a week. I'm just restoring the old server to a working state first, so I can prepare the new server properly. So everyone will be transffered over shortly. Which there will be downtime due to propogation issues, but shouldn't take more then a few hours.

The way my infrastructure is setup, moving sites to another server isn't possible.

Considered it before, but at this time isn't economically feasible.

Server is back up, with good old fashion duck tape. I'll now be working on getting the new MAHAL server setup, and prepared for transfer of accounts.

Ironic, cPanel has never loaded so fast.

Prehaps a new name for the new server? I'm not too fond of MAHAL as a server name.

Doesn't bring much luck to us.
